I see that you are into nuclear energy, and I found it particularly interesting that 'traditional' coal burning electrical plants release so much radioactive material! I hope this information gets more exposure because I think it is one of the best reasons to consider nuclear power -- we're pretty much already irradiating ourselves to a greater degree through our use of coal!

Hi Willi,

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I'll be sure to check out your site. You are absolutely right about the radioactivity released by coal-fired power plants. The ironic part is that if coal plants were licensed to the same standards as nuclear facilities, they would be forced to shutdown due to the rate of radioactive effluent release! I love what you have to say here. Environmentalism is good, but too many environmentalists are extremists bent on achieving a goal, and they don't seem to care whether or not there is logic or science supporting their goal. Also true, this puts them on par with religious fundamentalists, who they often blame for environmental problems (and, for the most part, are responsible for them). So although their blame might be correct, it is highly hypocritical. This article illustrates in just a few short words the difference between scientists and activists, and it does so very effectively.
